Our Mentors

  • Dave

    Dave founded and formerly coached the First Lego League team at his son’s previous school. In 2022, he founded Urban Inspire Corp, a 501(C)(3) organization solving the issue of the lack of FRC teams available in the area. Dave has worked for the world’s largest companies, such as Nike and Chanel, to bring their marketing campaigns into reality. When Dave is not doing work for his clients, he runs a real-estate development company and a high-end custom home-building company.

  • Erin

    Erin is an alumna of 1124/1085 and started doing FIRST Robotics in 2015. She is a graduate mechanical engineering student at Stevens Institute of Technology specializing in build and strategy, but is also knowledgeable with spirit materials and some code.

  • Trent

    Trent is a mechanical engineering graduate at Stevens Institute of Technology . This will be Trent's 8th season in FIRST and his 5th season as a mentor. He hopes to pass down his knowledge in mechanical design, the design process, strategy, etc. He also works with students to develop their soft skills such as communication and leadership techniques.

  • Ravi

    Ravi is a electrical engineering graduate. This is his 11th season in FIRST, and his 5th season as a mentor. As a long time veteran of FIRST Robotics and alumni of 219, Ravi has played a wide variety of roles on several award winning teams. He specializes in wiring, design, and build.

  • Nikki

    Nikki/Camillapanda is a FIRST Alumni, master of ceremonies, and play-by-play announcer. Nikki has mentored FIRST Robotics teams since 2012. Currently, she is a member of the board of Mid-Atlantic Robotics and the Rainbow STEM Alliance. In her career, she has been a robotics teacher, web developer, and Chief Marketing Officer. She also is a content creator in the gaming industry garnering a decent twitch following.

  • Ellen

    Ellen is an alumnus of FRC Team 1676, where she was heavily involved in both the outreach and strategy aspects of the team. After graduating, she attended Stevens Institute of Technology and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Sustainable Energy and a minor in Science, Technology, and Society. She currently works as a Packaging Engineer at a global cosmetics company. This will be Ellen's 13th season in FIRST and her 9th season as a mentor. She has also remained active in the FIRST community as an FLL judge and FRC referee. She is eager to further her involvement in FIRST through mentoring FRC Team 9015.

  • Dustyn

    Dustyn has been involved in FIRST for the last 16 years, beginning in FLL and last mentoring FRC teams in Rochester, New York. He graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering. For the last 6 years he has been working as an automation and robotics engineer. Dustyn specializes in programming and electronics with a good knowledge of CAD and mechanical engineering concepts.

  • Giuseppe

    Giuseppe (Joe) has mentored FIRST Robotics teams since 2015 through the Picatinny STEM Office. He graduated from New Jersey Institute of Technology with a B.S. and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. Using his expertise in materials, power and energy, and additive manufacturing, he works closely with students to aid in build, repair, and robot functionality. He is always happy to lend a helping hand and follow the lead of the student captains. He hopes he can help inspire the students to continue down the path toward a career in STEM.

  • Matt

    Matt is a senior at Stevens Institute of Technology studying computer science with a minor in quantitative finance. He is an alumni of Team 11, where he has spent time in the electrical and programming parts of the team. After graduating from Mount Olive HS in 2019, he has continued to stay involved in FIRST as a volunteer. This will be Matt's 7th season in FIRST and his very 1st as a mentor. He has worked as a coding instructor for iD Tech and works at Stevens as a course assistant for two computer science classes. He hopes to pass on his knowledge of programming, from best practices to creating quality code. When Matt is not busy, he enjoys playing the saxophone and clarinet, and is a current member of both the Stevens Jazz Band and Concert Band.
