Our Story

Questionable Engineering was formed by a group of passionate kids who wanted to compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition in May of 2022. With no local teams in Hudson County available for them to join, there was only one solution for these kids. They needed to create their own FRC team.

The rookie FRC team competed for the first time in 2023 at Robbinsville District Event, winning a blue banner on their debut. QE further advanced to the FIRST Championships hosted in Houston, Texas after competing in the District Championships. They won the Rookie All-Star Award at Robbinsville, District Championships, and the FIRST Championships. Overall, Questionable Engineering won 10 awards, and is ranked 19th out of 150 teams in the FIRST Mid-Atlantic District in their rookie season.

Questionable Engineering is a non-profit community-based FIRST Robotics team based in Jersey City, New Jersey. The team consists of high school age students from all types of backgrounds and experiences in Hudson County.

QE fosters teamwork, collaboration and dedication. We are student driven team with the goals of making one great FRC robot, and have robotics accessible to everyone. If you have a passion for robots, coding, mechanics, media, and public speaking, and you are a high school student in Hudson County we encourage you to join our team.

"When you have a group of high school kids so determined to create a robotics program that they are willing to start one from scratch, you know you have some fearless competitors.”
