Summer STEM Workshop: Building Rubber Band Cars!
We recently hosted our most recent summer STEM Workshop on August 16th! We loved going to the Priscilla Gardener Library to host our STEM Workshop. Throughout our two sessions, 33 attendees were able to expand their knowledge on both FIRST, and STEM concepts.
After our Engineering Weekend event with Liberty Science Center, we decided to bring our rubber band cars back after great feedback from both parents and children. Through an introductory slideshow, kids got insight on the science behind the cars, potential and kinetic energy. Both children and parents got to learn more about us and what we hope to accomplish in the world of STEM.
This time, QE Members worked to create 4 more designs and improve their speed. Kids had the opportunity to pick and color their car designs. After a QE Member helped them build their cars, kids tested their speed on a ramp and raced with other cars.
Thank you to everyone who attended, and if you didn’t get a chance, we hope to see you at the next one!
