Our First Off-Season Event!

While the FIRST Robotics Challenge season only officially begins in January, the off-season has certainly been very busy for us! When we heard about the Raritan Valley Robot Rumble hosted by teams 56, 75, 102, and 3637 on October 1st and 2nd we knew we had to participate. However, since we are a rookie team, we did not have any FRC parts to build a robot. Team 433, The Firebirds, swooped in and saved the day. They generously donated a large box filled with FRC parts that helped us build a basic robot. We appreciate the kindness that they showed us and wanted to say thank you!

Since we decided to join the Robot Rumble with very little notice, we were unfortunately unable to get our robot ready for the competition. We were shown great kindness by team 56, R.O.B.B.E.. They guided us at the competition, providing advice and pointers for competing in FRC. They showed the mechanics of their robot, how they built, and programmed it, and even let us drive the robot in different matches. Everyone was so welcoming and supportive of our team, and we had a great time.

Even though we did not win the competition, we got to meet and talk with so many great people! We overall had an incredible experience, it was amazing to see so many FRC teams in one place. Again, we want to say thank you to every team there, but especially teams 433 and 56. It is great to see how much of a kind and compassionate community FRC creates, and we cannot wait to see more of it in the future.
