Brunswick Eruption Off-Season Event

On November 12th, we attended the off-season event, Brunswick Eruption! It was our first off-season event where we competed as a team with our robot. The day had its ups and downs, but overall we had an excellent day! To begin, we want to say a big thank you to the host team of the event, Team 25 Raider Robotix!

We fully built and designed our robot in only two weeks, so it was incredible to see how it performed on the field for the first time. Thank you to Team 1403 Cougar Robotics for the drive train, which was a fantastic base for our robot, this helped us get it ready in time! The event started rough, we were in the first qualification round and we were unable to play with our alliance partners. However, we won three of the six rounds that we competed in, focusing mainly on defense and the climb. In our last round, we successfully completed a climb, and earned points for our alliance. Our team was chosen as alliance partners with Team Aperture (3142), Peddie Robotics (5895), and The PSIcotics (533). Our driver and operator, Micah and Isabella, did a great job driving the robot at the event with no prior practice.

It was wonderful meeting and working with other teams. All of our alliance partners were lovely, and we had a great time working with them. Witnessing all the excitement from the crowds watching the matches, and the teams working in the pits was an experience we will never forget. We all learned many valuable lessons, like clear communication among team members, and time management. In the end, it was incredibly rewarding to witness our hard work pay off and see our robot go out and compete!

Watch our robot do the climb on the hangar, and Lucas accidentally knocking the camera.
